AVIS — Pine Creek Township Supervisors unanimously agreed to donate $10,000 to both the Avis and Woolrich fire companies in addition to donating $1,000 to both The New Love Center and Roads to Peace in their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday morning.
Every year, the township supervisors decide to donate to a number of local organizations and these are in addition to the donations made at last month’s meeting.
In another Center related matter, the supervisors also approved a License Agreement with them.
The agreement will allow The New Love Center to park their 40 foot trailer freezer in the back of the building on Henry Street where their loading dock is, inevitably making it easier to pack and distribute.
Alice Fox Cline, The New Love Center board president, also noted that the renovations of the new building in Avis are almost done and that they plan to have an open house.
Supervisors also unanimously approved a subdivision of a 1.988 acre lot on Sulfur Run Roadwith conditions that it is approved by the planning commission and reviewed by the county.
The supervisors noted that the plans seemed to have “no issues” and was deemed a “no-brainer.”
Meanwhile, the subdivision located next to the Dollar General was given an extension for review and for a NPDES permit until May 6.
The supervisors will have a regular meeting the day prior to discuss and approve.
An update to the Dearborn National Accidental Death & Disability policy was also approved by the supervisors.
Darlene Macklem, secretary, said that the policy had been very outdated and “not beneficial to employees anymore”.
The updated policy should allow for more coverage for employees.
Dennis Greenaway, Tom Wilt, John Reese were all present.
The next Pine Creek Township meeting will be Wednesday, March 3 following a public hearing at 9:30 a.m. and material bid opening at 10 a.m.
